WHAT'S NEW

All the new product from CHA is starting to arrive. Yesterday we received lots of yummy new American Crafts, disappointingly a lot of the Dear Lizzy will not arrive until early March though.

The new Prima again does not disappoint - just beautiful and irresistable!

The winner of the $50 Scrapz.Biz shopping voucher was order #351. Congratulations, Jenny!

Please note that vouchers won in competitions are valid for a period of three months
from the date they are issued unless otherwise stated. You can use only one voucher per order. If not used within this period, they are cleared from the system and can not be retrieved.

FEBRUARY GUEST DESIGNER

Our guest designer this month is Danielle Davis who was the runner-up of our The Scrapper Of Oz comp last year.
Here is a little about Danielle.

Scrap Style:
I don't know how to define my style but I tend to do a lot of fine cutting and love layering with foam.
Fav Colour:
Red at the moment but most of the time I'm a pink girl.
Can't Scrap Without:
My little gold fine cutting scissors and patterned paper. I am also a Thickers addict.
Inspiration:
Scrapping days with friends, magazines, children's books and the Scrapz gallery.
Perfect Day:
Having a clean & quiet house so I can hide away and scrap for a few house guilt free.
Perfect Holiday:
Paris is my all time favourite holiday destination but I haven't tried this with kids. These days we enjoy beach holidays as a family.
Fav Food:
Chocolate or anything with chilli.
Fav Drink:
Tea or water. Sounds boring but I have a great capacity to consume litres of both each day.
Can't Live Without:
My family and my sister

Here is Danielle first stunning creation "Made With Love" using the February Ticklez kit.

The winners of the November Ticklez kit were Fiona Johnstone who wins a $10 voucher for this beautiful submission.

and Angela who has won a $15 voucher for this innovative design.

DOCUMENT WITH DEB

Hi Everyone.
Welcome to
DWD Wk 06/52

This week I am showing you the results of a slow shutter speed and a fast shutter speed to create two very different looks when photographing moving objects.
You can control the shutter speed on your camera using the Tv or S mode on your camera dial.
Here is a link to a fairly simple explanation about SHUTTER PRIORITY MODE

Sometimes a slow shutter is fabulous for showing movement as shown in my sample page below.
Shutter speed was 1/3 second -( it needed to be slow to get this effect)
ISO 200 - I could have increased this to get a faster shutter - you could play around with ISO and take several shots to find one you like.
F5.6 - I tried to keep a fairly average depth of field
Flash set to fire - i needed as much light as I could get due to the night darkness.
Lots of times I am just experimenting, and when I get a shot I like, I just check out my camera settings and see what worked. I find I learn more about my camera this way.

In the image below, I knew I wanted to "freeze" the water and record the droplets and movement.
To do this, you can use the sport setting (usually the running man) on your camera, or you can use shutter priority and set the shutter speed to fast.
Shutter 1/400 sec - this needs to be fast to freeze the water movement and show droplets.
ISO 400 - still keeping things fast
No flash
F /5 - fairly deep depth of field and still keeps a fast shutter speed.

Controlling your shutter speed is a sure fire way to control the look you want in action photos.
Have a play with your camera settings and see what you can come up with - the best way to learn is to get out there and start snapping.
Have a great week,
Deb
