Hi girls and welcome to a new
Scrap It Blind challenge!
If you haven’t had a go at this type of challenge before, it’s where you’re given a set of instructions on how to put a layout together without actually seeing the layout as a visual guide. SO FUN!! It’s amazing to see how everyone interprets the instructions…and there’s no wrong way of completing the challenge either. So why not join in and give it a try?
As you probably already know, this week our theme is “On Your Bike”…so keep that in mind when you go to choose your photos. No bike pics? Don’t worry! Why not use the theme as inspiration for your papers or embellies (eg, eg circular embellies influenced by bike wheels, travel/outdoor themed papers or embellies, etc.) It’s up to you.

I’ve used photos of Ayden proudly showing off his brand new bike for my page…plus I’ve got a few circular embellies thrown in too.
What you’ll need to create your page…
- three 3 x 4 inch portrait photos
- a chipboard frame (or similar) for one of the photos
- 12 x 12 patterned paper for your background
- black cardstock for matting (optional)
- Paper A – cut to 7 ¼ inches x 5 ¼ inches
- Paper B – cut to 6 ½ inches x 4 ½ inches
- Paper C – cut to 8 inches x 1 inch with a v notch cut into one end
- border stickers (or border punched strip) approx 5 inches long
- bakers twine
- a tag for journaling
- alphas
- your choice of embellishments
- corner rounder
- sewing machine (optional)
Ok…lets get started!
1. Trim your background paper down a little and round the top and bottom right hand corners. Mat with black cardstock and sew around the edges. (Please note that the matting with black cardstock is optional.)
2. Round the top and bottom right hand corners of Paper A and mat with black cardstock. Sew around the edges and place onto the left edge of your background approx 2 inches from the top with all rounded corners to the right.
3. Add Paper B to Paper A matching up the shorter left edges.
4. Mat your Paper C strip with black cardstock and place across the bottom of Paper B with the v notched end to the right. Sew across the middle of the strip.
5. Add a border strip down the right side of Paper B.
6. Matt two of your photos with black cardstock and arrange onto Paper B. They should slightly overlap Paper C too.
7. Add the chipboard frame to your last photo and mat with black cardstock. Place this photo in the bottom right corner of the page approx 1 ½ inches from the right and about ¾ inches from the bottom When you adhere this into place only use adhesive along the top and bottom so you can then tuck your journaling tag in behind it. Add your tag.
8. Under your top two photos we’re now going to create a banner. Instead of the usual triangle banner, search your embellies for a mix of some fun bits and pieces to use instead! You could use stickers, buttons, chip embellies, etc, along with some hand cut paper banner pieces thrown in too. Adhere your banner into place. Mine stretches from the bottom left of the first photo to the right of the Paper C strip.
9. Your title can now be added in to the right of Paper A.
10. Add any other embellishments you’d like, make sure you’ve journalled on your tag and you’re all done!
